Lafayette Public Library Joins Prospector

On January 17, 2017 The Lafayette Public Library joined Prospector through the Flatirons Consortium, a consortium of libraries in the northern front range. Lafayette was originally founded in 1888 by Mary Miller. She and her husband Lafayette Miller moved to Lafayette to farm land. Coal was eventually discovered on this land and Mary designated a portion of this land to the town which she named Lafayette after her husband. Lafayette quickly became part of the coal mining boom and by 1914 it had two banks, four hotels and brick works.

At about 3:45pm on January 3rd, The Encore (newer) version of Prospector(http://encore.coalliance.org/) will be unavailable for scheduled maintenance. During this time, you can search Prospector and place requests through the Classic interface: http://prospector.coalliance.org/search~S0.

Prospector Available to Denver Public Library Patrons

Prospector is once again available to Denver Public Library customers. Requests will immediately display in the Denver Public Library customer’s account in “Active” status. The status will change to “Shipped” when the item is on its way to Denver Public Library and to “Received” when the item is ready for pick up. Over the next few weeks, DPL items will be loaded into Prospector and available for other library patrons to borrow.

Colorado State University Temporarily Unavailable in Prospector Starting November 1, 2016

Colorado State University-Fort Collins and Pueblo libraries will be unavailable for lending and borrowing in Prospector starting November 1, 2016 while they undergo a library system migration.

Card holders for these 2 libraries may consider getting a library card from a public library in Prospector (http://prospectorhome.coalliance.org/prospectornews/web/about) and using traditional Interlibrary Loan while CSU completes the migration.

Health Sciences Library (Anschutz Medical Campus) Temporarily Unavailable in Prospector Starting November 7th

The Health Sciences Library (Anschutz Medical Campus) will be unavailable for lending and borrowing through Prospector starting November 7, 2016 while they migrate from their local library catalog to another brand .

Card holders from HSL may consider getting a library card from a public library in Prospector http://prospectorhome.coalliance.org/prospectornews/web/about and using traditional Interlibrary Loan during this time.
