Dear Prospector users:

We have developed contingency plans with the expansion of the Covid-19 pandemic in light of Prospector.

Although the Prospector system can be supported remotely by our staff, there could be disruptions in service if libraries or the courier start shutting down. Since we can activate and de-activate libraries on a case-by-case basis, if only a small number are affected we will de-activate them as long as necessary and re-activate them when they re-open and Prospector will continue operation. However, if there are too many, the Prospector system would not be viable for a period of time and it would be de-activated until libraries could participate again. Prospector depends on the courier for delivery of physical materials. If the courier were shut down, we would de-activate lending in Prospector for the delivery of physical items although it would still be operational for finding e-resources. If this were to happen, we will provide an announcement on the Prospector website.

Sincerely,

CO Alliance of Research Libraries
